Religious Education Programs

Faith Formation Commission – This is the advisory board to the Pastor, Director of Religious Education and Youth Minister.  The Commission formulates and evaluates policy. Meeting Minutes

Vacation Bible School – is held for a week in the last half of June each summer.  This program is for ages 3 and up.  We need many volunteers, including teens to help with this very active week!  Sign up for VBS is held in May.   2008 VBS Registration Form

Children’s Christmas Mass – is the 4:00 Mass on Christmas Eve.  This is a tradition at St. Susanna’s.  Children of the parish-aged preschool through grade 5 participate in the reading of the Christmas Story.   Sign ups for this are through the School or Religious Education.
Religious Education Program (Updated) – provides religious instruction in the Four Pillars of the Catholic Faith (Creed, Sacraments, Christian Life, and Prayer).  Children age 4-5 meet on Sundays during the 9 AM Mass.   Children in Grades 1 through 5 meet at 10 AM on Sunday until 11:10 .  Students, grades 6 through 12, meet on Sunday evenings 7:00 to 8:10. Classes begin in August and end in May.  Catechists and Aides are volunteers.

Children’s Preparation for First Sacraments: Reconciliation and First Communion are celebrated during the Second Grade.  The children are prepared in the School and in the Religious Education classes, as well as activities with their parents. Confirmation is celebrated in the Tenth Grade.  There is a textbook, service work and retreat to assist the young person with preparation

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults: This process is for adults who have an interest in learning more about the Catholic faith and perhaps becoming a Catholic.  We meet on Tuesday evenings 6:45 to 8:15 .  In addition to participants, this process needs Team Members and Sponsors.

Women’s Bible Study meets on Tuesday mornings during the school year. 
Breakfast with Saint Nicholas is served by the Mom's Group and students usually on a Sunday in Advent. 
Bonfire, Hayride, Hot Dog Roast is sponsored by Religious Education in October for the families of the parish.
Family Evenings to prepare for Advent and for Lent -  Prayer, food, and ideas for celebrating the liturgical seasons in the domestic church of the home.
Stations and Soup Supper – is coordinated by Religious Education on Fridays during Lent.  A parish group presides at the Way of the Cross and hosts a Soup Supper in the cafeteria after.   Free will donations are given to charity.
